Hiking…

We live in a beautiful city. San Diego is one of those special places where you can visit the desert, beach and mountains in one day! What better way to spend the President’s Day holiday, but to go hiking! I can see the desert floor on this mountain trail…

Can you tell me what famous trail this is?  (There is a hint if you look closely!)

Okay, some of your guesses are very close, did I mention that this trail is 2600 miles long? Hmmmm…that is your clue!

Valentine’s Day, a Time for Friendship…

Valentine’s Day was a day to celebrate our Character Education trait, Friendship.

What does being a good friend mean to you?

Kids Kitchen Time!

Look at us making truffles! Mrs. Winters was our guest chef for the day and showed us how fractions and cooking are close companions. We had such a wonderful time doubling the recipe and making truffles. The best part was having truffles for dessert after lunchtime! Thank you, Mrs. Winters and to our very own candy chefs!

Art Walk

In room B-16, we are dedicated to our approach to the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) standards through theater, dance, art and music experiences. Our classroom has divided our standards across the year in the following way:

  • Fall Trimester– Theater/Dance Education
  • Winter Trimester– Art Education and Art Show
  • Spring Trimester– Music Education

This trimester, we focused on fine art and entered three classroom art projects to the Art Walk. Look for,  paper art, Tropical Birds; sand art, Petroglyphs; and our group acrylic painting,  Frozen.   For more on the VAPA standards, please check out the pdf file below:
