The Dot

We read, The Dot, celebrating creativity, collaboration and courage. Then we made our own personal dot using acrylic paints. The painting is joyful! Good job, artists!

If you had your own canvas and paints, what would you love to paint?

Data

We are learning how to survey people, collect and display data on a graph. These skills are very important to mathematicians and scientists.

What was the outcome of your survey question?

Saying thank you is very important, especially when someone does something special for you. This week we are thanking the people that helped us with testing and taught us how to use our Chrome books to take our tests. Thank you for helping us, we really appreciate you!

What are you thankful for?

Our Library Visit

It is always fun to visit our school library! This week we learned about where everything is in our library and how it is organized. We learned how to find our lexile by accessing the Dot Chart, we learned about the Dewey Decimal System and how to locate a book.

Do you know the library rules?

Blues, Jazz and Rock Music

Friday, we had the pleasure of experiencing live music and play homemade musical instruments. It was an event to remember! We clapped out rhythms, sang out loud and played along with the band.

What made your experience memorable?

Recess With Our Friends!

Theater time is so much fun and it teaches us to be confident, fluent readers, and works on our memory skills too.

Have you ever been in a play or a musical performance? What was your role or part?

Flashlight Friday

Flashlight Friday is a wonderful way to engage kids into reading their favorite books. I like to read mysteries with my flashlight, it helps to create suspense and excitement while I read each page of Nancy Drew.

Have you ever read a mystery book?

Writers’ Workshop is so much fun! During Writers’ Workshop, we become REAL writers that use the writing process and illustrate our work afterwards. Remember too, writers read a lot of books and use colorful language to help their readers picture the story in their imagination.

Who is your favorite author?
